This work forms part of a miniature series titled Urban Canimals, painted directly onto discarded spray paint cans. I first began working with the Canimal concept in 2020, initially focusing on bees as symbols of fragility and collective survival.
This newer series turns its attention to animals that have adapted to life in our cities — creatures that exist on the margins, thriving amid concrete, noise, and human disruption. Painted onto the very tools of street art, these animals become metaphors for grit, resilience, and quiet endurance. The spray can acts both as canvas and symbol: an object of urban expression repurposed to honour the wildlife that has learned to survive alongside it.
