In many traditions, light symbolises consciousness, spirit, awakening — the animating breath that separates the living from the inert. The firefly is a quiet embodiment of this mystery. It does not blaze like the sun or dominate the sky like a star. Its glow is intimate, and almost secretive as it is intermittent .
Biologically, the firefly produces light through a near-magical process of cold luminescence — energy transformed into radiance without destruction. No burning. No ash. A living alchemy of chemistry and intention. It is light without violence.
