The hummingbird has long been regarded as a messenger between worlds, carrying hope, memory and unseen guidance. Able to hover between earth and sky, to fly forwards, backwards and seemingly suspend itself outside of time, it embodies the liminal space where transformation begins. Like an eclipse itself, it reminds us that the most profound shifts often happen in moments that appear fleeting.
Clutched in its delicate feet is an ancient skeleton key. Throughout history, keys have symbolised knowledge, opportunity and the unlocking of hidden realms. Here, it suggests that every period of darkness conceals a door waiting to be opened.
The Messenger asks us to trust the journey through the unknown. It suggests that life’s greatest revelations rarely arrive with thunderous certainty, but instead on the fragile wings of intuition, coincidence and quiet signs we almost overlook.
