 I adore these gorgeous creatures and the fact that they eat the Caapi root to enjoy its psychedelic effects is amazing to me, and I really wanted to create a piece to highlight this and the magic that is the Jaguar. The Jaguar is also symbolic of spiritual rebirth and embracing the unknown, which is why ‘Soul-Searching’ seemed the perfect title. The Jaguar also has a ‘near threatened’ status on the IUCN Red Species List, so awareness of this is very important so that they can be protected from falling further into the ‘endangered’ category.
