This work features the endangered Early Bumblebee suspended in free-fall, its form dissolving into upward drips against a melting neon skyscape. The fluorescent, man-made palette acts as both a visual alarm and a nod to urban environments, highlighting the tension between nature and modern culture.

Bumblebees have long symbolised community, resilience and quiet alchemy — small creatures performing extraordinary, life-sustaining labour. Depicted here on a skateboard deck, the bee mirrors the raw freedom and risk inherent in skateboarding: a fleeting moment of weightlessness balanced against gravity, impact and consequence. The image captures both beauty and precarity, echoing the fragile position pollinators now occupy within an increasingly artificial world.
