Oil, acrylic and spray paint on canvas. 80x100x4cm (2017).

This piece is a collaboration between myself and the Artist Alexandra Gallagher. We explore similar themes sometimes in our work, including religious iconography, nature and the Divine. We created the piece 'Purely Eternal' around the symbolism of peacocks, in this case white peacocks due to their akmost mythical beauty. The peacock traditionally symbolises immortality and makes an appearance in many religious texts. The Romans used peacocks in their frescos as the ancients believed these birds flesh that did not decay becuaw of their symbolism. In India where peacocks originated from they also represent power and royalty, which is why I set them against a royal purple background. The painting also has the upward drips my work is known for to represent the animals fading upward, towards 'Heavens/the Universe' as they are divine, sentient beings, aswell as the floral designs Alexandras work is reknown for to represent lifecycles, which is echoed in her siwrling dot patterns. All combined together resulted in a visually arresting, a very spiritual piece.

We offer two beautiful framing choices on our originals of either a flat wooden white natural tray frame with a white mount backing, or a black flat natural wooden tray frame, with black mount backing. These modern choices compliment the artwork perfectly and suit most decors. We can also deliver framed painting overseas (postage included).
