The Luna Collection’ is based around animals associated with the moon, in 12 of the full moons that happen through the year. This painting celebrates the magic of the September Harvest Moon, a time traditionally tied to abundance, gathering, and cycles fulfilled. The glowing orb has been transformed into a blood moon, echoing this year’s total lunar eclipse—a celestial event long seen as a threshold, where endings and beginnings blur and transformation stirs.
At its heart, a harvest mouse clings delicately to a stalk of grain, a creature whose very name ties it to the season of reaping. Symbolic of resilience, adaptability, and the fragile beauty of life, the mouse reminds us that even the smallest beings are deeply bound to the rhythm of the earth and sky.
Together, the blood moon and the harvest mouse entwine two layers of meaning: the grandeur of cosmic cycles and the intimacy of earthly ones. The painting becomes a meditation on change, abundance, and the quiet strength needed to navigate times of transition—a reminder that harvest is not only about gathering what has grown, but also about preparing for what lies ahead.
