Digger Bee (they’re silver 😍!)
Oil, acrylic and spray paint on canvas, 5x5 inches.
Latin: Anthrophorini
Location: Solitary bees that nest in soil, either in banks or flat ground. This species live all over the world except colder climates such as Russia, Greenland, Norway, etc
Characteristics: Fairly large species of up to 30mm. Robust bees with protruding faces. Wings often appear disproportionately short compared to other bees. Usually have white to pale yellow hairs on the males.
Endangered status: Least Concern .
