I’ve been recently inspired by the magical ‘Crimson Topaz Hummingbird’ which ended up as a sketchbook study - it is literally a rainbow bird of ethereal beauty, with glittering feathers and scythe-like tail streamers, it’s one of the most spectacular birds of northeastern Amazonia. Like most birds in this part of the world it’s numbers are decreasing as it’s habitat is destroyed. Do we really want to lose such extraordinary creatures - some yet may have not even been discovered for our insatiable appetite as a human race for always wanting more?....
